In 2015, founders Cody Frink and Richard Marshall decided to create a general commercial contracting company that didn’t subscribe to the usual adversarial and “win lose” relationships that have unfortunately become common place in the contracting industry today. They envisioned having a company whose sole purpose looked to collaborate, create, and be open with clients in order to create unquestioned value and develop trusting relationships that would provide the foundation for repeatable business into the future. The idea was to create a “boutique” general contracting company that wasn’t trying to be all things to all people, but rather establish specific relationships with people and organizations.
Today Pura Vida Contracting proudly specializes in the development and execution of small to medium sized construction, remodel, and infrastructure remediation projects which need professional, responsive, and proactive workmanship to satisfy the needs of our clients. Pura Vida is staffed with employees whose mission is to provide professional consultation, workmanship, and customer care at all times. Spanning variety of trades, Pura Vida is ready to execute a variety of trade disciplines that are needed in the expansion, remodeling, and maintenance of existing buildings.

Born in Garland Texas, Cody grew up in the construction industry first serving in the field in the family concrete business and then migrating to both sales and operation management.
In 2015, he partnered with Richard Marshall to form Pura Vida Construction to fulfill his lifelong dream of charting his own course. Their shared vision of creating a full-service general contracting organization that took customer service and integrated business philosophy to the next level and to set the company apart from others.

Richard grew up in the construction industry, in southern Illinois, starting first in residential markets and then migrating to commercial and institutional sectors.
Serving on various religious mission trips to Costa Rica, Richard identified the phrase of “Pura Vida” to embody the spirit and culture of him & his partner’s new founded company. Meaning “Pure Life”, the vision was to grow a company that was pure in heart, honesty, and values to both customers and employees alike.
